209 Days Since Our Closure On March 13, Public Prep Scholars Are Back On Campus

While our school year began remotely in August, we couldn’t mask our excitement to begin our phase-in for scholars today. By the end of the month, we will have close to 930 scholars who opted for our Blended Learning Model on site four days a week, with one day a week fully remote.

Since access was granted to our facilities, we’ve been working in cross-functional teams to set up conditions that ensure the health and safety of our community. In addition to adhering to DOH guidance on classroom setup to ensure physical distancing, Public Prep has been making critical investments in our facilities, above DOE requirements, including:

      • Reviewing safety plans with external medical experts
      • Campus walk throughs with external consultants to evaluate ventilation systems and building plumbing
      • Seeking independent reports on site safety
      • Deep cleaning on each campus through external vendor
      • Daily protocol and routines practice runs with all on site staff
      • Additional investment in technology to ensure equity

We are confident that our reopening plans exceed health and safety guidelines set by the Department of Education, and we are proud to offer a learning environment that promotes safety and confidence in our staff, scholars and families. Yet, our need remains to fulfill these investments amidst state funding cuts.

We are so grateful for your support during this time; we couldn’t do this work without you.

      In Partnership,

      Janelle Bradshaw, CEO
