For Teachers Appreciation Week, Soles4Souls hosted an event called 4EveryTeacher, providing over 350 teachers and staff from Public Prep and Partnerships with Children the opportunity to select two free products from a generous donation by COACH. The items available included handbags, book bags, briefcases, wallets, and accessories.

In a remarkable collaboration, Little Free Library and Scholastic partnered with us to enhance the reading experience for our students at Boys Prep Bronx. As part of the national "Power Up with Reading" initiative, our school was honored with a special 'Dog Man' Little Free Library, one of only 50 granted nationwide. This initiative, supported by the bestselling Dog Man author and illustrator Dav Pilkey, provided over 1,000 books for our young readers. The celebration included a read-aloud session, students dressed as Dog Man, and a surprise appearance by the Dog Man character himself. This partnership exemplifies the positive impact that strong community and corporate collaborations can have on our educational programs.
This fall, The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) launched an exciting expansion site at Public Prep’s Boys Prep Middle School in the Bronx. This partnership brings fun and engaging BCNY after-school programming to Boys Prep students at no cost, addressing the pressing need for affordable extracurricular activities in the Bronx. In addition to after-school programs, BCNY Saturdays will offer free programs open to the community later this year. Programs include the Young Men’s Group, robotics, wilderness exploration, photography, High School Access, and study hall. This collaboration ensures that our students have access to safe, positive, and enriching activities, greatly benefiting our Boys Prep community.
Founder of We Have Stories, Frederick Joseph, a two-time New York Times bestselling author and award-winning philanthropist, donated $20,000 worth of essential back-to-school items and books to Girls Prep Bronx II Elementary. Included were copies of his book "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - The Courage to Dream" (Disney), Nike book bags, school supplies, notebooks, amongst other items . Additionally, catering from a local vendor was provided for the event and $50 gift cards were presented to parents, ensuring a comprehensive support experience for our families.
"I'm from these neighborhoods in New York, and these kids remind me of myself," Joseph shared. "I want to help provide for them some of the same things I wish people provided for me when I was that age."
